How It Works: Acular is an ophthalmic NSAID that decreases inflammation in the eye. It produces vasoconstriction, which shrinks the blood vessels in the eye, decreasing infiltration of fluid and white blood cells into the conjunctiva. There is also a decrease in pain and redness caused by enlarged blood vessels. Common Side Effects: Acular may cause eye irritation, blurred vision, headache, stinging and burning when applied. If you experience an allergic reaction, persistent pain, bleeding, vision changes or an eye infection, seek medical attention immediately.
